[ Tex doesn't know much about this place other than the fact that it's 2007 and that she's been chosen to be the police chief. She finds a radio, though, inside the church, and figures it's time to get some communication going, so she can figure out what kind of situation she's been asked to lead here. She doesn't know if she has a police force to be on her side, or whether there's much of a population here besides those who had been brought to the church. It's clear that they are all being brought there, considering the presence of the machines that she'd been teleported via and that others had also arrived in. She's not supposed to talk about the fact that she's merely playing a role, but that means there may be others who are also playing a role.

All in all, that just means Tex wants to ground herself and figure out what she's dealing with. And the radio seems to be a good avenue for that.

She holds the radio up to her mouth for a long moment before clicking the button. ]

This is Texas, chief of police, here. Just checking in on any other police force members, or citizens who would want to report in. Currently I'm trapped in a small church without any way of transport to other locations. The faucets here don't work, and I'm stuck here with several other people, so we're likely to need to find a way to get somewhere else before this turns into a bigger issue. [ She chuckles slightly. ] Besides, I'd really like a good cup of coffee right now.
